Core XML

Core XML - The XML standard in 1998 and its very fast adoption across many industries has paved the way for a succession of related technologies targeted at web publishing, interactive publishing, data management and data conversion. In this course, these uses of XML are explored along with the related standards that build on and utilise the flexibility of XML.

This course is targeted at Internet or intranet content providers as well as programmers who want a foundation for programmatic access to XML. Often, solutions can be crafted in higher-level forms like XSL Transforms, without the need to write low-level Java or C++ code at all. This course is not a programming course and no programming experience is required. Attendees will learn, through a variety of hands-on exercises how to build and tune XML documents and their related schema definitions (DTDs) and then transform them into a publishable form.

The Practical Exercises
This course focuses on the standards, and it uses for case studies, tools which implements the standards. Thus, the course materials are relevant for all tools which implement these standards.

  • Pre-Requisites: None
  • Practical Exercises: Each trainee will be provided with a workstation for the hands-on exercises.
